Quick Summary
The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal (BICT) at Luggage Point handles thousands of passengers in a few hours. The public drop off zone is a chaotic mix of taxis, rideshares, and confused private cars. Unison Transfers chauffeurs are accredited to access the Commercial Drop Off Lane, which is closer to the bag drop. We don't just dump your bags; we unload them directly onto the porters' trolleys, so you walk into the terminal hands free.
A cruise holiday is about relaxation. But the hour before you board is usually anything but.
The traffic jam on the single road into Luggage Point can stretch for kilometres. Once you arrive, the "Kiss and Ride" zone is a frenzy.
The "Luggage Assisted" Difference
Most rideshare drivers will pop the boot and stay in their seat. "You can get those, right?"
At Unison, we consider luggage handling part of the fare.
- The Lift: We lift the heavy cruise trunks out of the vehicle.
- The Handover: We flag down a terminal porter.
- The Result: You don't lift a finger. You walk straight to the security checkpoint with just your passport and carry on.
Disembarkation: The Return Leg
Getting off the ship is worse than getting on. 3,000 people disembark at once. The queue for a taxi can be 90 minutes long.
Your pre booked Unison driver tracks the ship's docking time. We park in the designated Limousine Holding Area.
When you clear customs, you send a text. We pull around to the commercial pickup lane. You bypass the taxi queue entirely. It is the ultimate VIP exit.
Timing Your Arrival
Cruise lines give you a "Check In Window" (e.g., 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM).
If you aim for 11:30 AM exactly, you will hit the peak traffic. We often recommend arriving 15 minutes before your window opens, or 30 minutes after it starts, to miss the crush.
Our drivers do this run weekly. We know the rhythm of the port. Trust our scheduling advice.
Vehicle Selection
Cruise passengers pack heavy. Formal wear, theme night costumes, extra shoes.
Do not underestimate your luggage volume. A couple with two "Max Size" cruise trunks will fill a sedan boot completely. If you have carry ons too, book the V Class.
