Quick Summary

Navigating the airports of South East Queensland and Northern NSW requires local knowledge. This guide covers the specifics of Brisbane (BNE), Gold Coast (OOL), and Ballina Byron (BNK) airports. Learn about meeting points, travel times, luggage allowances, and the unique benefits of choosing a private chauffeur over taxis or rideshares. Whether you're a first time visitor or a frequent flyer, this is your roadmap to stress free travel.

Three airports. Two states. One seamless service.

Welcome to the ultimate guide for luxury ground transport in Australia's premier holiday region. Whether you are landing in the bustling hub of Brisbane, the coastal strip of the Gold Coast, or the relaxed terminal at Ballina, Unison Transfers has you covered. Here is the essential information for every traveller.

1. Meeting Your Driver

Brisbane (BNE): Domestic arrivals meet at the baggage carousel. International arrivals meet at the designated chauffeur meeting point in the arrivals hall. Look for your name on a digital sign or tablet.

Gold Coast (OOL): The meeting point is usually near the baggage claim area or the designated transport pickup zone just outside the terminal.

Ballina (BNK): It's a small terminal. Your driver will be waiting visibly in the arrivals area as you exit the secure zone.

2. Travel Times (Estimates)

  • Brisbane to Gold Coast: 60 to 90 minutes.
  • Brisbane to Byron Bay: 2 hours.
  • Gold Coast to Byron Bay: 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Ballina to Byron Bay: 30 minutes.
  • Ballina to Gold Coast: 60 to 75 minutes.

Note: Always allow extra time during peak hours (7 to 9am, 3 to 6pm).

3. Luggage Allowances

Sedan: 2 large suitcases + 2 carry-on bags. Ideal for couples.

People Mover (V Class): 5 large suitcases + 5 carry-on bags. Perfect for families, golfers, and surfers.

If you have oversized items like surfboards or bikes, please let us know when booking so we can send the right vehicle.

4. Child Seats

In Australia, children under 7 must be in an approved restraint. Taxis are exempt (surprisingly), but private vehicles are not. We provide:

  • Rear facing capsules (0 to 6 months)
  • Forward facing seats (6 months - 4 years)
  • Booster seats (4 to 7 years)

These are free of charge with Unison Transfers.
