Quick Summary
The Pay Link Protocol allows Executive Assistants (EAs) to book travel for their bosses without being physically present. Once a booking is confirmed, our system generates a unique, encrypted Secure Payment URL. The EA can forward this link to the finance department or pay it instantly using a corporate card. This eliminates the risk of reading card numbers over the phone and ensures instant receipt generation for expense reporting.
In the modern corporate world, data security is paramount. Yet, many transport companies still ask you to "read the card number" over the phone.
At Unison Transfers, we consider that practice obsolete and dangerous. Our Pay Link Protocol was designed specifically for the workflow of high level Executive Assistants and Travel Managers.
The Problem: The "Card on File" Risk
Storing credit card details in a spreadsheet or emailing them to a vendor is a major cybersecurity risk. If that vendor gets hacked, your corporate AMEX is compromised.
Furthermore, the person booking the travel (the EA) is often not the person paying for it (the Director or Finance Dept). Passing the phone around to "pay the bill" is inefficient.
The Solution: Decoupled Payment
Our system separates the Booking Action from the Payment Action.
- Step 1: The EA books the Executive Sedan using our online portal.
- Step 2: They select "Send Pay Link" as the payment method.
- Step 3: The booking is tentatively held. An automated email with a secure Stripe link is sent to the EA.
- Step 4: The EA forwards that email to the cardholder, who clicks the link, pays via Apple Pay or Card, and instantly receives the tax invoice.
EA Pro Tip: The "Guest Checkout"
You don't even need to log in to pay. The link is tokenized and secure. This means a CEO in New York can pay for a transfer happening in Brisbane with two taps on their iPhone, without ever creating an account.
Instant Reconciliation
The moment the payment clears, two things happen automatically:
- Driver Notification: The job status updates to "Confirmed" on the driver's iPad.
- Invoice Generation: A PDF Tax Invoice is emailed to the billing address. No chasing receipts at the end of the month.
Security Standards
We use Stripe for all transaction processing. This means Unison Transfers never sees, stores, or touches your raw credit card data. It goes directly to the banking network via 256 bit encryption.
This compliance level satisfies the rigorous procurement standards of our Fortune 500 clients.
Setting Up an Account
For frequent travellers, we can set up a Corporate Account with monthly invoicing. However, for ad hoc executive travel, the Pay Link Protocol offers the perfect balance of speed, security, and administrative ease.
